The Sahiwal Heritage

Why Sahiwal
Cows?

Sahiwal is among the rarest and oldest breeds of non genetically modified cows – a living heirloom handed down through millenium on the sun drenched regions of north west India.

Because their lineage was never altered, the natural nutrition of ancient times remain intact in their milk-rich in A2 beta casein, easy to digest and deeply nourishing.

That’s the ghee that carries the vitality of our forefathers-pure, primal and unchanged by time.

The Knowledge
Behind the
Golden Elixir.

Long before laboratories and labels, sages in forest ashrams recorded the secret of ghee on barks and palm leaves- the first elixir of ayurveda.

Bhavyaprakash (16 th century) describes ghee as Medhya (intellect sharpener), chakshysya (good for eyes), vrishya (vitalizer), balya (strength giving).

Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya describes it as tridoshahara meaning its perhaps the only food that balances vata pita and kapha in human body.

Bhavyaprakash calls it yogavahi,a carrier able to take and transmit properties of whatever is prepared with it. By 16 th century the learned had understood that certain compounds dissolve into fat and travel with it. They built an entire class of medical preparations based on it.

3000 years ago, Ayurveda described ghee as deepayana-food that kindles digestive fire, and anupana-a carrier that enhances the absorption of fat soluble nutrients and herbal compounds.

“An ancient food tradition, carried forward into the rituals of today's Indian kitchen.”
